Bachelors of Science, Earth Sciences at UCSD Minor: Education Studies Graduate School: the Master's University

Experience

I have been tutoring for 7 years and teaching for 4 years at UCSD, middle school, and high school. I held physics and chemistry workshops for undergraduate classes at UCSD. I created my own lesson plan and utilized online resources for groups of 3-20 students. My philosophy of teaching is that students learn best when they are able to present the materials to me well. Thus, I aim to explain and provide practice in a way that they have a clear understanding to be able to teach me and others. Moreover, physics requires learners to have the ability to apply their knowledge in different scenarios. So I aim to train my students in their critical thinking and application skills by helping them stay away from memorizing the way of solving a particular problem to apply to other problems. In my Education minor, I got to work in the classroom with my middle school and high school students. I love teaching physics. I am currently taking a gap year before I get my teaching credential next year. My plan is to be a high school physics teacher.
